Our Milestones

1996

Hansel & Gretel Early Childhood Education Centre was established at the ZGU Bldg, Governor Alvarez Avenue with an intake of 65 students registered in Nursery, Kg 1 and Kg 2 classes.

2001

The first year when Ferndale International School admitted international students, mostly dual-citizens, from the USA, Australia, England, China, Egypt, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.

Our sister school was established in Huludao City, Liaoning province in China. Wisdom Tree International Schoolhouse (WTIS) was founded as a Multiple Intelligence School with English teachers Ms. Rose, Ms. Estela Apolinario, and Sir Roel Feliciano as the first expatriate teachers to be hired in the school.

First international competition in Tae-Kwon Do in Florida participated in by Arjay Abrera and Mykha Bernardo.

SPED became the Center for Exceptional Children

2003

First cohort group of elementary students graduate and receive their diploma.

2004

Admitted the first batch of Junior High School students.

2012

The K-12 Basic Education reform was approved by the Philippine Government

2015

February 25,Ferndale International School passed the Certification Program of the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) making Ferndale an ESC (Education Service Contracting) School.

SPED Center changed its name to Center for Exceptional Children (CEC for the education and training of children with learning disabilities.

Ferndale International School was granted approval to offer the senior high school programs with the following strands: STEM, ABM, HUMSS, GAS, ICT, TVL

2016

The new Senior High School Bldg was inaugurated - a significant milestone for Ferndale International School. The two levels, 20-classrooms became home for senior high school and junior high school students.

2018

The year when Ferndale Colleges-Zamboanga Peninsula Inc was approved by the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) granting approval to amendments proposed. Ferndale Colleges-Zamboanga Peninsula Inc operating schools under the names of Ferndale International School, Hansel & Gretel Early Childhood Education Centre and Center for Exceptional Children is granted approval by the SEC.

2019

Approval to offer college courses was granted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region IX. College programs approved were: Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BS CRIM), Bachelor of Multi-Media Arts (BMMA), Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd), and Bachelor of Technology & Livelihood Education (BTLEd).

Ferndale Colleges-Zamboanga Penisnula Inc obtained approval from the Technical Skills & Development Authority (TESDA) to become a TESDA accredited Training and Assessment Center. With this recognition, Ferndale Colleges became a partner of TESDA in providing training skills to qualified applicants.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC-ROIX) approved the application of the Ferndale Institute for Teacher Training (FITT) to become a service provider for upgrading the professional development competencies and skills of educators through the conduct of seminars, workshops and conferences for public and private school teachers.

2020

In March 2020, Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) was declared by the local government unit and schools were told to close due to the COVID pandemic. In August 2020, schools opened for SY 2020-2021 without the physical presence of students. Flexible learning modality was through blended learning and instruction followed a digital flipped format.

2021

Second year of COVID. Still on COVID IATF Protocols and LGU with DepEd mandated guidelines.
